Directing

Jishnu Sarkar

Jishnu Sarkar is an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter, born in 2005 in Kolkata. From a young age, he was passionate about drawing, collecting books, and watching films. As he grew, he channeled this love into his profession, writing screenplays and storyboards. His debut Bengali short film, "Nimontron", was made with no prior experience and zero budget. Building on that, he created his first independent feature, "What Is It", drawing on the lessons from his first directorial effort. He is currently navigating the festival circuit with "What Is It", while his latest project—a dark comedy thriller screenplay titled "Folk In Beach"—is a Cambridge Script Festival Finalist.
