Ankur Barik

Ankur Barik is an Indian actor and cinematographer born in Kolkata, India, in 2005. While pursuing a degree in computer applications, he developed a strong interest in filmmaking and visual storytelling, eventually dedicating himself to cinema both behind and in front of the camera. His filmmaking journey began with Byartho, where he served as director of photography while also making his acting debut. The experience provided him with a unique understanding of performance, allowing him to explore storytelling from both technical and creative perspectives. Ankur later took on the prominent role of Kaushik in the independent feature film What Is It?. As one of the film's central characters, Kaushik plays a vital role in driving the narrative forward. To prepare for the role, Ankur adopted an immersive approach, incorporating aspects of the character's personality into his daily life in order to create a more natural and authentic performance. Through this project, he further developed his skills as both an actor and visual storyteller, continuing his journey in independent cinema.
